About PumpSchedule
Our Mission
PumpSchedule exists to solve a simple problem: homeowners forget to pump their septic tanks. Not because they don't care, but because three to five years is a long time to remember anything.
The consequences of forgetting are serious. A neglected septic system can fail the drain field, turning a $425 pump job into a $15,000 repair with your yard torn up for weeks. The EPA estimates that 1 in 5 US households use a septic system - that's over 21 million homes, and most of them don't have a reminder system in place.
We built PumpSchedule to be that reminder system. You tell us when your tank was last pumped, and we track your schedule automatically. When it's getting close to time, we email you (or text you, if you prefer) and connect you to a trusted local pumping company.
It's completely free for homeowners. We earn a small referral fee from pumping companies when a job gets booked through our platform. This keeps the service free for the people who need reminders most - rural homeowners who often have limited options and rely on word-of-mouth to find service providers.
Why We Built This
Septic failure is predictable and preventable. The vast majority of emergency calls to septic companies involve systems that haven't been pumped in 7, 10, or even 15 years. The homeowner knew they needed to do it - they just never got around to scheduling it.
PumpSchedule removes the "getting around to it" from the equation. We maintain a directory of septic professionals county by county across the US, so when reminder day comes, finding a local pumper is just one click away.
Our Approach
We follow EPA recommendations for pump intervals, adjusting for tank size and household size. A 750-gallon tank serving a family of five needs more frequent attention than a 1,500-gallon tank with two occupants. We factor this in when we calculate your due date.
We don't use urgency tactics or scare tactics. Septic maintenance is routine - we treat it that way. One reminder when it's time, a connection to a local pro, and you're done for another few years.
For Septic Professionals
PumpSchedule is also a lead generation tool for septic pumping companies. Homeowners who register with us are warm leads - they already know they need service, they just need a connection to a local provider. Learn about listing your business.
